Mechanism of Action
ARA-290 (Cibinetide) is an 11-amino acid peptide derived from the helix-B domain of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike native EPO, it selectively binds the innate repair receptor (IRR) — a heteromer of the EPO receptor and the β-common receptor (CD131) — to activate tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory signaling without engaging the homodimeric EPOR responsible for erythropoiesis.
