Mechanism of Action
SS-31 (Elamipretide, also known as Bendavia or MTP-131) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-2',6'-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH₂) that selectively concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it binds cardiolipin to stabilize cristae structure and optimize electron transport chain function.
